Beginning his career as an assistant editor in Kids TV Daniel was given his first opportunity to edit for broadcast TV on the ABC ME program, This is Me in 2016.

Over the years since he has honed his skills, working across both kid's scripted drama and documentaries with programs including Random and Whacky, The Gamers 2037, Miss Represented, and the AACTA-nominated series Muster Dogs.

In 2023 he won an Ellie award for his work on the AACTA-nominated children's drama series Barrumbi Kids. He was also listed on IF's rising talent list for 2023.

Daniel is happiest simply when telling stories; finding threads and connecting moments to help build narratives that engage and emote.

STUFF I AM REAL PROUD OF

Game Master.jpeg
THE GAMERS 2037 (2020)  - Lead Editor/Associate Director
Drama TV Series - 26 x 24min - Channel Nine

This series has been huge. 26 half-hour eps wrangled by a small team with a tiny budget. Keaton Stewart (the shows creator) and I had to streamline the whole process and rethink a lot of how we did things to make this show possible. From designing the opening titles to additional writing and editing the majority of episodes - this series has been an obsession for me.

It's coming soon and I can't wait to share it.

FOR REAL! (2020) - Lead Editor/Post Supervisor
Comedy TV Series - 37 x 24min -10 Peach

Working as a post producer and lead editor I worked alongside the shows graphics artist and other editors to nail down how this show would look and feel. What resulted is a chaotically gleeful mix of movement and sound that is grounded in the world of the characters. It's silly, irrelevant, and fun.

Coming late 2020.

RANDOM AND WHACKY (2019) - Editor
Comedy TV Series - 60 x 24min - 10 Peach

This was a fast turn around comedy sketch show that was a whole lot of fun to work on. There was enormous freedom in how the episodes could be put together - if something wasn't working we had numerous ways of writing new punchlines and even creating new characters (Keep an ear out - I happen to voice a few of these).

And yes, you read that right - 60 episodes (most of which were between myself and one other editor).

PROJECT PLANET (2018) - Editor
Obdoc TV Series - 8 x 30min - ABC

Five passionate students have been recruited by Project Planet to lead their schools into a more sustainable future - a great mix of entertaining, informative, and inspiring.

I was lucky enough to work on this on location in Perth.
